OMG! You had me on my seat to the very end, but, but, but,... now I am very curious if she was on that flight! That is heart-pounding! That is the scariest thing anyone can ever experience! HUGS!

Thank you for recognizing how I felt that day. It was intense. I will post a comment further down about what happened later, but, I promise she is just fine now.

Even though I was pretty confident I knew the outcome of this, I found my heart in my throat.

I've added you as a friend.

What an experience to go through. This story totally sucked me in, and like someone else said, I'm almost afraid to ask about the outcome. One of the best things about your tale is that you left your readers hanging. You can really write, you know? I can see I'm in for very stiff competition!

Thank you so much! I am glad you liked where I ended it - someone further down has commented that I was trying to make it a soap opera!

My mother was fine, I am going to write an addendum to this so everyone who was concerend will know. She was however, really on a flight to NYC that morning and we didn't find her for hours.

I can't wait to read your entry too!

I liked that the reader didn't know what happened. This was an element about the story that I thought was necessary.

My heart is in my throat.

I had a cousin and a friend, worked in that area, that my family was unable to reach - eventually every one was ok ... My MIL and BIL live in Manhattan and could see the plume of smoke.

WOW... just... wow.

It was a terrible day for our country. It's a testament to our resiliency as Americans how quickly we moved on, refusing to live every day in fear, but it also shocks me how many people seem to have forgotten what happened just seven years ago!
