Callbacks for Annie Warbucks!!

So, I managed to snag not one, but TWO, callbacks for a show - WOOT!

The Gainesville SCT (Summer Community Theater) rocks and they were holding auditions last night for their July show, Annie Warbucks. Since I moved away, it has been about 14 years since I did anything with them.

I was so nervous when I arrived - there were tons of folks there,

Congratulations! I never knew there was a sequel to "Annie." Is it recent?

The original show was in 1977, it took until 1992 to get the sequel to Off-Broadway.

It's the same composer, but it's quite a bit darker - The head of Child Welfare in NY is trying to secretly get her daughter married off to Warbucks so they can kill him - and Annie too!

It's hilarious, but not quite as light-hearted as the original Annie. I imagine this is why it didn't grow as popular.
