food and farms

The farm that Harveytchainsaw and I get vegetables from each week was flooded in August with this massive succession of rainstorms that followed the severe-t-extreme drought that was plaguing us in Minnesota. Floooded with like 17 inches of rain, and I'm not even joking. They're still trying to figure out where to go from here, how to recover from a loss to the ( Read more... )

which one do you use? We're part of Featherstone. I think Harmony Farms is one of the others down there, right?

Also, we don't really get any more tomatoes. I'm pretty sure they're washed out and rotten. I'm jealous of you!

No one can be good at both physics AND chemistry. No one is even allowed to LIKE physics AND chemistry. As long as you like one or the other, you're fine.

It's like Elvis and the Beatles!

I read this outloud to my house mate and she agrees. She said she doesn't know anyone who likes both. And she's a chemistry lady, so.

I think it might have to do with the instructor, too. Mine's pretty terrible.

Like most advanced physics, string theory is pretty awesome conceptually. Actually doing it is another thing entirely. Are you going to have to take quantum mechanics or thermodynamics at all?

And I love calculus. It's like magic. Calc III was one of my favorite classes ever.

probably not the quantum mechanics or thermodynamics unless I change my major. Analytical cchemistry and biochemistry are looking more and more appealing, though. Calculus is fine. It's not magical for me, but then again, not much is in the math world besides things like geometry and circles and triangles. perhaps number theory, but I've not enough time to explore that at the moment.
