There's a two-day block party this weekend, and SY plays the second night. There are a TON of bands during the day that I'd love to see, but alas, I'll be at work, and it turns out I couldn't justify spending another twenty-five bucks just to see Sonic Youth. Eh. But Built to Spill and the Jesus Lizard on the first night of the block party, I am so there.

I think you're missing out by skipping their 00's stuff. I'd put it up there with most of the music they released in the 90's, maybe better.

They are old, though, and have been doing this for a long damn time. I saw a video of them playing "Teenage Riot" on a British television show recently and wondered how they could show even the small amount of enthusiasm that they did. I mean, they've played that song thousands of times.
