The spoilery STXII pics meant I just spent an hour re-reading my LJ from the reboot era, and GODDAMN I really like(d) that fandom. I am excite about new canon, and that's even completely independent of Benedict Cumberbatch's presence. (FTR, w/r/t the latter, HOW SKINNY IS QUINTO that BC looks brawny next to him? How does that work

I'd already read--and enjoyed!--The Reluctant Relationship. And I can't believe how good the rock band!AU was. This effing fandom. ♥

we really must be looking at different pics Quinto is normal size I have stood next to the man. And all this Quinto bashing due to his size seems a little odd he doesn't look in any way small next to him, if anything he looks fit.

Lord, I am SO EXCITED about new ST canon! Especially involving BC, let's be honest, he's going to be a super amazing villain. Although you're right - I hadn't thought about it, but if HE looks meaty, something is really going wrong (or he's wearing padding? - probably not). However, ZQ's face in that shot of them was so perfectly Spock that I fell in love with Star Trek all over again. And it looks like Uhura gets to be a total badass. God, why can't this movie be here now?

Agreed on Lucy Liu; she can be Watson anyday, as far as I'm concerned. The gender dynamic might be - interesting? Anyway, it probably won't be, like, my favorite incarnation of Holmes, but nothing will ever beat The Great Mouse Detective anyway, so I'm excited nonetheless.

LOLOLOL I bought the little monkie a copy of GMD at a grocery store for, like, 5GBP the other day and she can't stop watching it. FABULOUS.

For serious, I have wasted WAY TOO MUCH time today going back through ST reboot stuff. God. I hope tons of old people find their way back to that fandom next year. Apparently, I have not reached my limit on the number of times I want to read Bones call someone "darlin'." HAPPYSIGH

It is hands down my favorite Disney movie and the only movie I tolerate where animals talk. (I just have a thing about talking animal movies. Babe was very traumatic for me.) Now I need to see it again!

Oh, happysigh, happysigh. That fandom is so good and there are so many amazingly talented people in it! I am more than ready for the renaissance, and for Bones to scowl a lot and be super Southern and call people (Jim) darlin' again. <3 <3 <3

I was already planning on watching Elementary because I love JLM and also I didn't want to prejudge the show (and if you'd asked me a few years ago whether we needed a modern-day reboot of Sherlock Holmes I'd have said HELL NO and then look how that turned out!). But your X-Files retread idea sounds even better. Yesssss.
