3rd experiment [video]

[After working part-time in Cherrygrove for a few days, the feed opens up this time in Violet City. Sasha is manning the feed, and at first glance, it seems like the man is very tired. Much to his dismay, Sasha's travel partners wanted to get to Violet City faster than normal, cutting the time down from a week to 6 days, but completely tiring him ( Read more... )

[Well one little miniature ball of energy is never tired ever, in complete contrast with the little eggy pokemon that is almost forever napping in her arms. Aisling is sort of half sitting on Nidoking, clinging to one of the many horn like protrusions on it]

Are you going to come into the tower with me today? I heard someone say there's ghosts in it! They like the night time better though, so maybe you should take a nap before we go in.

[YES, her heart is set on this forever]

[Aisling, why you make him walk? Sasha just sighs, arms crossed over his chest, as if debating that nap on not.]

Ghosts. Perfect. [And he says that with sarcasm. Ghosts shouldn't be real, but they are in the pokemon world, and Sasha still can't believe it.]

We can go in whenever you want. I'll be fine either way...What exactly do you want to see here anyways?

[You could have rode too. ;;]

Have you ever seen a ghost before? Not all of them are so bad. Some of them are fun to talk to, but you have to look out for the ones that lure you away. There are some that can even kill you in a scream. I don't know what kind are in the tower though.

The boy told me there are monks that fight with wiggly plants! I wanted to see those, and the ghosts!

[But that would mean getting close to a girl and also Nidoking still hates his guts. But the ground-poison sure loves Aisling as he lowers himself to the ground so she can get off at anytime.]

Aisling...you're not really helping by talking about all the scary things ghosts can do. [Not like Sasha's scared, but he's just annoyed right now. Blame it on a lack of caffeine and rest.] Although, I must admit, I'm curious to see what lies inside the tower as well.

[He walks over to her now, holding out Nidoking's pokeball] Ah yes, the monks might be like the ones from your homeland. But be careful...they might want to fight you in a pokemon battle.

Falkner's all lower-mid 30's, flying types with one that's part Dark - if you've got any electrics or somethin' with electric-attacks an' play it smart, it's not too bad; Bas an'Momo were a few levels below when I went in, an' it wasn't an easy fight, but we got past'im. [The Pachirisu on his shoulder perks up at his name, peering at the camera.]

Wish I could tell ya th'travel times get better, but there's a few places further apart; Olivine's a couple weeks from anythin' on foot, an' there's a cave between Violet an'Azalea. That bein' said, there's a good teppanyaki grill a couple blocks north'f the Gym in Violet, an' a few streets of older buildings near th'Tower.

Level 30 and above? I knew he was a tough trainer, but that almost seems cruel to new trainers starting off in New Bark town. I have an electric-type, but he's nowhere near that level. [Oh hey there Pachirisu. Sasha just waves lightly to the squirrel pokemon.]

I feared as much. Maybe investing in a travel pokemon won't be such a bad idea after all. As for teppanyaki, I haven't had that in years, since the last time I visited Japan. It sounds like a good suggestion though. Thank you for the advice.

It's nothing; I'm happy t'help.

I'm gettin' the feeling th'Gyms aren't somethin' you're supposed to hit fresh out'f the gate; I hung around Violet for a few weeks before I tried'im.

Y'might also want t'see what you can find out about how they evolve - Baskerville used t'hide in my jacket before he evolved, an'now, well...[He turns the camera to the Houndoom lying nearby - who's now the size of a small horse and using his saddle as a pillow.]

I appreciate it.

Interesting. I guess the gyms aren't something a novice trainer can burn through easily. I'm grateful to have learned this before trying and failing completely.

Baskerville? Ah, is the name related to the novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle? All four of his novels surrounding Sherlock Holmes were some of the best mysteries I've ever read. [He's examining the Houndoom curiously now, wondering how small the dog was before he evolved.] Ah yes, evolution...the point in which a pokemon changes and grows stronger. I understand the concept, but I'm not sure if I'll force my pokemon to evolve when the time comes.

The gymnasium leader is relatively challenging for a new arrival. If I may ask, how long have you been here for, sir?

So I've heard. I highly doubt I'll be attempting to get the first badge until my pokemon are much stronger.

I've been here about 3 weeks, give or take. Did you have any other questions, sir?

No, but I believe you did.

The only nearby place worthy of note, as far as I can remember, is a site known as the Ruins of Alph. You may enjoy it if you are archaeologically-inclined.

Isn't that the logical way to gather information though? Through conversation and asking questions, people are able to expand their own knowledge greatly.

Perhaps I'll look into these Ruins of Alph in due time, but to be honest, I'm more interested in the biology of pokemon. At least this town has more to it than New Bark or Cherrygrove.

[Coop doesn't respond to this text right away - it's an hour or two later that he does give Sasha a call.]

Hi, Sasha-- I just made it to Goldenrod yesterday. Felt like I needed a change of scenery. How do you find Violet so far?

[Sasha doesn't mind the call coming in later, as long as he hears from Cooper at some point in the day.]

Good to hear from from you, Cooper. As for your question, Violet City is rather impressive so far. I just got in this morning and haven't had much time to look around, other than investigating Sprout Tower.

How was your journey to Goldenrod? Did everything go alright?

[Good. He was busy moping. :|b]

Well, Violet is one of my personal favourites. Big, not too big; a balanced mix between a city and a town. Stayed there for two months on my first visit, so don't be surprised if you find yourself there for longer than planned.

[He breathes in before answering the question, and nods, despite the audio.] Ilex is beautiful this time of year. Definitely enjoyed the trip as far as scenery goes. No unexpected events - the journey itself, a-okay.

[Don't tell him that, Coop, or else Sasha will actually get worried about you.]

I've noticed that the city isn't overly populated, but isn't small like New Bark or Cherrygrove. I don't know how long I'll stay here, but I'm taking a week off traveling for sure. I was rushed here by an unforgiving pokemon and partner, and let's just say that makes travel exhausting.

[Sasha smirks on the other end, knowing full well Cooper can't see him.] That's good to hear. Is it really true that Ilex Forest has a shrine where a legendary pokemon sleeps? Or is that just a myth?
