Had a pretty full WoW weekend. With the recent achievements, a lot of people want to get some of the old stuff done, so my Guild went back to visit some of the old content. The onyl achievements I needed were for the two Ahn Qiraj instances, but I helped out on Blackwing Lair and Molten Core too ( Read more... )

Illidari Council is really easy if you manage to A) interrupt the priest's heals B) stay out of the AOEs and C) keep your mage tank alive.

Other than that it was fairly simple.

Yeah reading over the strats it doesn't look bad. If we can avoid Archimonde's fire, this shouldn't be too bad. Any idea on what kinda of gear the Mage tank should have? Pure stamina, PvP or the Arcane Resist stuff?

I really wish I could tank that mob, but I just hav no way to cancel their other ability. After tanking the Caster Emperor in AQ40, I want to do it some more!

Our mage was in his standard raiding gear, as far as I know. He'll be spellstealing the dampen magic off of the IC mage, so I don't think it requires and particular resistences, since the base mitigation will be so high.

Never been to AQ, which servers are you on? I have 2 Hordies on Moon Guard and 1 Hordie and 1 Ally on Aerie Peak.

I think my favorite part of AQ40 is the gauntlet part. Very intense, even now, with everyone ridiculously overpowered.

Hehe, that was the part our Mages always hated. They have such negative feelings on it now they still don;t want to come back.

So, I filled out the AoE part of the run! It was a really great place to actually try it out, as it grabbed everything, and a Moonkin is just tough enough to put up with the bugs attacking so it isn't hell on the healers.

Compared to the supression room in BWL, the AQ40 gauntlet is much better. It's also great practice for the Reliquary gauntlet. Well no Starfall there, that would be bad.

I found the Reliquary Gauntlet easier than even the Zul'Aman gauntlet. We're to the point where we don't even stop halfway to AOE the angry ghosts down.

We're probably going to do AQ40 next week. This week's Achievement run is likely going to be an assault on Thrall for 1/4 of the Black Warbear achievement.
