Yuuto wasn’t entirely surprised or disappointed when Suzuka shyly held up the DVD case to Mulan after he asked her what she wanted to watch on their Saturday night date. He’d have preferred something along the lines of Avatar or Harry Potter but, he thought fondly, at least he could count on her to choose a strong movie. As far as Disney princesses went, Mulan was pretty okay with him.
Suzuka didn’t speak much throughout the movie, outside of a few side comments and a snort throughout the “A Girl Worth Fighting For” song. She was content to leaning back against his chest and engrossing herself in the movie, absently playing with his fingers as she mouthed along with the lyrics and smiled to herself. Yuuto thought, as long as they could stay like this he’d watch every princess movie ever made with her.
“Mulan’s amazing,” Suzuka whispered sleepily as the credits rolled, turning to curl up against him and laughing a bit. “I always wanted to be like her, when I was a kid…”
“Eh, you are a lot like her!” Yuuto insisted, continuing when she snorted in disbelief, “You’re not into all the girly stuff like everyone else… you’re strong, too, though maybe not enough to go fight Huns…” Suzuka scowled and punched him in the arm, making him laugh. “And you’re kind, too, even if you don’t show it.”
“Does that make you my Li Shang?” she asked through her own laughter, poking him in the cheek.
“I did always consider myself to be rather manly…” He winced when she elbowed his puffed out chest, smiling sheepishly at her giggles. “But, that makes you my princess!”
“And you’re my idiot,” she said affectionately, awarding his goofiness with a quick kiss.

“Are you sure you’re okay now?”
“Y-yes…”
“The big bad ghosts won’t get to you out here, okay? I’ll protect you!”
“Mmgh…”
Suzuka held back a giggle at Yuuto’s indistinguishable mumble. He might be embarrassed by it, but she found it adorable that her boyfriend had been so terrified of the haunted house that the clung on to her the entire time. He was so cute, wincing and flinching at everything, even letting out a short scream (“yell! It was a yell!”) when a girl dressed in white with long hair reached out from a mirror for him. Suzuka was too busy trying not to coo over him to be scared herself.
“Will you be okay if I go to the bathroom? I’ll be back as soon as I can!” she teased, laughing at his scowl and promising that she’d stop poking fun at him- he had to keep some of his pride, after all. She kissed him quickly on the cheek before heading off towards the restrooms, her spirits high from the entire day. Even the long line at the restroom couldn’t bring her down.
“Yuuuuuto! I’m sorry I took so long, the line was…” Suzuka stopped and looked around in confusion for her missing boyfriend. He wasn’t the type to just ditch her… so where was he? “Yuuto? Where are you?"
“Uhm…”
Turning around, Suzuka gasped audibly at the ridiculously large stuffed polar bear behind her, and again when she realized her boyfriend was behind said polar bear. “W-wha… what’s this for?! It’s huge!”
“It’s for you…” Yuuto mumbled, smiling sheepishly and holding it out for her. Suzuka took it, dumbstruck, her arms barely able to reach all the way around it. “I was playing the games while I waited…”
“B-but… b-but why is it so big? I would have been fine with one of the smaller prizes, y-you didn’t have to pay for extra games to trade it in…”
Yuuto mumbled again, and Suzuka frowned, leaning in to hear his repeated answer. Immediately she let out a laugh, nearly dropping the polar bear from her surprise and amusement. Setting the bear down, she slid her arms around his waist and kissed his cheek, giggling at the deep red cheeks and embarrassed look he sported.
“Aww, Yuuto… you didn’t have to win me something just to prove that you’re manly!”
