five short random examples of love. high fives if anyone knows where the last one came from.
"Yuuto! Yuuto Yuuto Yuuuuuuuuuto!"
Shida and Kawashima rolled their eyes at each other, trying to pull their friend out of the window. "I guess the soccer team is back from their trip, huh?"
"Stop that, Suzu-chan, you're embarrassing yourself!"
Suzuka broke free of them and stuck her tongue out quickly before going right back to the window frame to wave like an idiot from the third floor of the school and profess her love to the boy who waved and jumped like an idiot right back at her. And even if it was kinda cute that the normally cool and calm Suzuka would risk looking like an idiot for another idiot, Shida and Kawashima decided that their love was just too cute for normal mortals and left before they could die from sweetness overload.
"Isn't she still in high school?"
Mirai held her tongue but glared at the guy from the corner of her eye. So what? I probably have more brains than your college girlfriend! she thought. This was why she was so reluctant to hang out with Kanata's school friends- the band was okay, if only because everyone was her age and they were all old friends, but college kids could be jerks.
"Yeah, she is." And it was most disappointing when you're normally nice (if not teasing little bastard of a) boyfriend became a jerk with them.
Kanata wrapped an arm around her waist and held her close to him tightly before she could scoot away, grinning slyly. "Jealous? She's cute, isn't she?"
Well, that was better.
"And probably smarter than your girlfriends, anyway."
She rewarded him with a kiss on the cheek for that, deciding that she definitely had the best teasing bastard of a boyfriend ever.
Yamada had just finished having his weekly fight with Airi (which he’d no doubt begin the process of making up with her before the hour was up) and Kanata had proposed the next song they should do when Yuuto’s cell went off- everyone groaned at the familiar silly smile that broke out as he read over it. “Suzuka’s stuck at the library, I’m going to go get her-”
“Aw, come on Yuuto! We still have another hour of practice!” Yamada whined, still shooting evil glares at his own phone.
“Whatever happened to bros before hoes?” Takaki quoted from Keito, who threw his guitar pick at him while yelling that he didn’t believe in that quote.
Yuuto frowned. “She’s not a hoe.” Grabbing his bag, he went to duck under the door to the garage, then stopped and turned around. “And don’t call her one, either!”
"Oi."
Even if Yamada was pretty damn attractive when putting on a sad, pouting face, Airi kept up her glare and crossed her arms over her chest, turning around to face the other way. "What?"
Yamada groaned and moved so that he was in her line of vision again, holding up a stuffed dog as a peace offering. "I'm sorry, okay? I." He bit his lip, and continued quietly, "I can't lie and say I didn't mean what I said, but I am sorry for hurting your feelings."
Airi was pretty sure she was an idiot for letting this same trick work on her again and again. But even if he was a big headed idiot sometimes, he was also an honest one who always apologized despite everything. "Well," she sighed, frowning as she took the dog. "I guess I can't blame you if you'd rather play with your own band then go to a KAT-TUN signing with me."
Yamada sighed gratefully, resting his head against her shoulder. "Thank you. I know I shouldn't have insulted them, but-"
"But! I'll only forgive you if you go to see that new movie with me."
"The chick flick?!" He winced at her glare and quickly wrapped his arms around her waist to keep her from leaving, nodding quickly. "Pick you up at six?"
"And then we can go back to your place afterwards, ne. To make it worth your time."
Next time I'll make sure to offer that first, she vowed silently as he grinned somewhat stupidly and hugged her tightly. Wasn't love supposed to be all about making compromises, anyway?
“Ne, Suzuka.”
She tore her gaze away from the television to look at him inquisitively, eyes widening and then slowly falling shut when he kissed her. She smiled against his lips when he parted just a breath away, and whispered, “Marry me someday?”
His randomness always took her off guard, but she couldn't exactly say she minded it. “Mm…” Her smile turned giddy, and she rubbed her nose against his. “Maybe someday, if you’re very good.”
His arms slid around her waist as she moved closer to him, his lips trailing kisses across her temple as he asked, “Well, what if I’m not?”
“Still,” she breathed softly against his mouth, kissing teasingly, giggling as his fingers drifted over her stomach, “Maybe someday.”
