If Smoker was going to have to watch him be like this all day, there was no reason not to lay next to him.
It had been reassuring to find such a similar logia, nevermind in who. Even after so many years, having met so many cursed by the devil's fruit, he had still felt alien in the world.

How innocents drew surprising kindness from both of them.
