I broke the end;
which spat at me;
and tossed it to
the ugly ground.
again and a
gain.

It sprung back up
and stabbed my chest
all the way through.

It pulled back out
and left a hole;
which spewed and spewed.

And then it lay
while i just died
and screamed and prayed
please, i’ll take it
back.
