Damn, that's pretty good.

[Pause. Uh. What else does he say? Hm.]

A guy like me thinks about this kinda thing often. [Getting married to a long-time soldier that could go out and die any day kind of does that to you.]

PRETTY... GOOD.

I've been wondering... Didn't you say it was Big Boss who sent you here in the first place? I've never seen someone retain so much national pride even after he takes them in.

Yet how is that memory kept? It only causes us to stagnate in needless sympathy, elevating these people to the position of martyr, while no attempt is made to end the cause of their suffering.

The only suitable memorial is to eliminate war. Nothing less can be accepted.

Without war, you would have purpose, not simply be an instrument of destruction.

Do you believe that war is necessary to appreciate peace? Do you believe that peace must be appreciated at all rather than simply existing? It is not enough, you say, to have a consuming and all-embracing peace unless we know violence?

Disgusting.
