I came across this article about anorexia.

It talks about some things that I think are really important, especially the control issues and the Minnesota study, and about offering health care before the symptoms become dire.http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/mar/11/anorexia-mental-

What an enlightening article! I'm glad I read it. I've never suffered from anorexia. But, I have always thought it had to do with control and self-image or rather, self-cognition. I mean, how one sees oneself as a being. The comment of the one person who mentioned wanting to erase herself, I understood. I've definitely felt that, but never stopped eating to do it. I also eat less when I am depressive though. I eat way more when I feel good!

I never really thought it had to do with fashion, not really. It might be tied in there somehow but it's not the sole cause.

Yeah, it's definitely not *caused* by fashion or the media or models or whatever. They sure don't help, but they're not the cause.

I would write more, but I don't feel like going to that place in my head right now.

It shouldn't detract from the article, but when I clicked there was a weight-loss ad off to the side. *sigh*
