So, a few of you might know that I've recently completed a slew of illustrations for my husband's first novel. It's not printed yet, but still.... YAYYY!!!! Anywho, apparently the editor really liked them and insists I have a webpage and they'll put that in with my credits. Again, yayy!!! Except, well, I don't actually have a website yet. So my IT- ( Read more... )

Flu is a long way down the list of words I would naturally link with avian, so I think it sounds fine. And YAY drawings!

Whew! Thanks, hun! And one of these days, when I feel less stupid-like, I shall attempt to post some fanart up here. :D

neither me nor my friend - who, incidentally, works for the immunisation dept &mdash think it brings illness to mind. she actually said it made her think of quills.

we rather like the name [*nods*]

congrats!

I didn't think of Avian flu AT ALL. The name first conjured images of a tattoo parlor and then an artist's site. (The tattoo parlor first ONLY because they always use "ink".)

I like the sound of it, actually, it flows nicely and almost sounds like a single word.

oH yayy!! For some reason I was fixated on putting the word "ink" in there somewhere. Thanks so much, luv! :)

I didn't think of bird flu at all. In fact, I'd forgotten temporarily about bird flu at all until you mentioned it. We've all moved on to swine flu now, haven't we? I love the name. It's really pretty.

And that is so exciting - your husband's book and your illustrations! Wow! A web-site of your pics is really cool. You got your first choice of name. That is all goodness!

Just before the HBP movie came out I was driving along and saw a bus advert so I pointed and said to my 2-yr-old in the back of the car "Oooh! Look! Harry Potter!" That's OK. He can recognise and say 'Harry Potter'. Only then I got louder and shouted: "No! Even better! Look! It's Ron Weasley!" before I realised that I was stopped at traffic lights in the centre of town with all the windows open. So, yeah, I looked dorky in the face of RL too.

I think you're right, hopefully it will only be the one person who is reminded of thousands of dead hens when he thinks of my name. ;) And thanks so much!!! When it's up and running I'll make a little post, I'm really quite excited about it too!

Ahahaha!!!! You rock so hard! Love it! Due to the large number of huge Draco (& Ron! sigh) posters that are currently everywhere these days causing me to spontaneously revert to a 13-year old girl *jumps up & down giggling*, I've decided upon a new mantra... "I do NOT feel bad for embarrassing my friends. I do NOT feel bad for embarrassing my friends...."

Nope, didn't think of bird flu at all. LA Ink came to mind briefly (TV show about tattoo artists). I think you chose well. It's a pretty name. And congrats on your drawings being used!
