We all have bad days, and rough patches in life. Its a part of life, some deal with it better than others. Lately I've been thinking about what constitutes a bad spell by my current standards. Beautiful...
I read a lot of Sylvia Browne which has a lot of Buddhist philosophies. Basically, she says that our lives are repetitive cycles of living out our life "theme." We write the blue-print that is to be our life. We choose our suffering only to make us stronger. EVERYTHING that happens to us in this life was predetermined by us, as if we are testing ourselves. We never give ourself what we know we cannot handle. EVERYTHING makes us stronger. As much as we think we are alone, we never are. Lonely yes.. but we are lonely for a reason.. our choice.. our theme, our test.

Something to chew on...

Very nicely said, I just quoted you to a friend actually (don't you feel special?!). I think it's the ultimate sign of selflessness to willingly help someone and not to expect anything in return. To be able to take some satisfaction out of a situation where you are underappreciated/used/ignored/taken for granted, takes a lot. A strong sense of self, a knowledge that regardless of the lack of reciprocation, that you matter and have made a difference, however small.
