It's a joke.

But, um, who's telling you that the root of words relating to poison means well? Bene means good, or, colloquially translated, well.

yeah it was on some page called silly latin ((so i figured it was a joke)) i no not the root words, tis whatever the weird page i was sent to by a search engine said. me putting up bene and vene was me asking question basically since i dont usually fully trust traslating sites ((specially after i watched how many french students fail hehe))

Well, I'm no expert, but..

Vene is sort of a cool root word, actually. It relates poison to magic. Vĕnēfĭcĭum (veneficium, if the characters don't show) is defined as both "a poisoning" and "the preparation of magic potions and sorcery" for instance.
