Going mushroom hunting is very common in these parts. One of our new found friends actually has her MS in fungal pathogens so she collects all sorts of interesting mushrooms that are edible... Lion's Mane is one that I'd seen in asian markets before but never tried... they are really rich almost buttery.. and are fantastic w/eggs....

Part of our dinner conversation was on mushroom hunting locally. Everyone seems to pick chanterelles in the park and there is also the ocassional Hen of the Woods mushroom to find as well. Lion's Mane sounds worth trying and playing around with in the kitchen next time I see them at the market.
