I want to cry this is so good.

What I really love about this is, well. I love Erik as a character in the film and fics, yes, but Charles is the one who really fascinates me. In a way, Erik's a fairly straightforward character - Charles's powers make him... Idk, less tangible? In any case, your take on him really hits the spot for me. I'm not a big fan of dark!Charles the way most people write him - as in dark = evil. Your Charles is definitely dark, but he's not amoral or a sadist. He's dark and he's BAMFy as fuck and so, so intelligent and not afraid to show it. How he's playing Emma here - that last scene. UNF.

Also, the sexual tension here. Is just. And neither of them really realising properly how much chemistry they have.

I love Charles taking control. LOVE. In a way this story is a mirror image of your previous, much-loved one (was there not one more chapter to go? Or did I miss it?) where Charles needed Erik to be the assertive one... and here, Charles gets to rescue Erik. Which is not to say that Erik doesn't have kick-ass BAMFness of his own, but he's been under Emma's thumb, and I think Charles is going to change the whole game. AND I CAN'T WAIT.

Poor starved-for-touches Erik... I hope Charles can fix that too :-)
