Great chapter! Hurrah for Charles finally making that breakthrough! Although I can't help but be worried what exactly all this is going to do to Erik...

Thanks! Yes, Charles fiiinallyyyyy accepcted he has as much a part in this as Erik. And well, about what this is going to do to Erik, it'll depend on how well he knows himself and how determined he is. We'll know soon enough.

I'll update tomorrow, probably.

I guess their stalemate is over now. Which is great. I like how Erik is not allowing Charles to just passively go along with him anymore. He has made it abundantly clear that everything that happens from now on is not just something that Charles has not prevented early enough, but something he actively chose. I think this was a very important thing to point out. I just love this pragmatic approach Erik is taking here ( ... )

LOL Erik did cheat, but I think I'll explain that in the next chapter. And yes, just like Erik said, it was high time they stopped dancing around each other. More importantly it was high damned time Charles started moving on his own, rather than just reacting.

You know, I think it was probably my failing because I'm not all that familiar with children. As I said above I asked a 12 yo if she knew about famine and what it does and she did know, and even knew what a starved person looked like--but then I guess maybe that's not as common as I might have thought. As I said, my failing. I'll try to get that back on track.

I'll update soon!

I'm so with Erik, finally Charles admits that he doesn't want him to stop! So many feelings! Little Ororo being all kinds of awesome and Erik forcing everybody to have a camping trip so that he can be alone with Charles. I can't wait to see what happens next.

lol it seems like getting Charles to admit to feelings is like pulling teeth from a camel, huh? All it takes is single-mindedness, though.

I'll update soon, promise!

I have to say that if I were Erik I would have some problems with acting so patiently and tenderly. I mean: of course Charles experienced things no one should and he's deeply and througly hurt, but still- it's hard to act gently when someone is making one step only to go back in the next minute. But finally Charles made the decision (although I'm sensing troubles, I can't believe he won't hesitate before making the final move.
The scene on the lake's shore is perfect! Which is good, since I'm not sure about the beginning of this chapter. It seemed sligthly rushed- Charles protecting Erik is something interesting and telling many things about him. I feel there could be more about it, Erik wouldn't let Charles just run away from this problem. Ororo is still awesome, although she suddenly acting in much more matured way than before.
Enough for this time- as always the notification about next chapter will be greeted with a huge smile.

I think I love that about Erik too. He..gets Charles to do things, react to things he's not expecting. I think he's rather unpredictable, and I think Charles finds him to be..basically like new territory he's never seen/felt/come across before, and he doesn't really know how to handle him and his usual methods don't really work, but I think while he kind of hates that, he loves it too.

I think that's what he likes too--that even though he can read his mind, Erik keeps him on his toes. Erik doesn't fit in any of the categories Charles in which Charles has ordered his life, and that's exciting, isn't it?

Exactly, and it is. And he's..not afraid of Charles, not intimidated by him, and if he is it's not just fear that comes from it, I think he's genuinely excited to find someone who's..able to push him back when he pushes. An equal, a challenge, not someone who's just afraid of him either. I think they both relish in each other, how they push one another and inspire, and I think probably admire, as well as obviously respect.
