Greg in the lobby. Open.

He'd started sleeping in later and later, and it was nearly 1:00 by the time he forced himself t wake up. James was gone, which concerned Greg more than he cared t admit. It was possible he'd just gone downstairs, or out by the lake, or even in to town so he wouldn't disturb Greg's sleep. He'd go with that, until James proved otherwise, because ( Read more... )

Okay, so Stacy hadn't been avoiding Greg. She'd just been scared out of her mind to see what might happen as a result of their talking again. When Lisa had come to tell her what had happened...well, nothing about this could go well. So she hadn't left the room except when she could help it, and Lisa was finally starting to get irritated with her.

And now she was actually in the lobby, trying to act normal again and pretend that whatever was being kept from her wasn't bothering her as much as it really was.

"See, this isn't so bad," Stacy muttered to herself, running her fingers through her hair. "You can deal with this...oh, hell."

Of all times and all places, here and now..was Greg. Stacy's breath caught in her throat and she closed her eyes, forcing herself to remain as calm as she could. She couldn't pretend that she didn't see him...he was there, and she had to deal with this at some point or another.

"Greg."

There were very few things that could make Gregory House stop in his tracks, and her voice was one of the things that could do it. Her voice, the sound of his name, cut him to the bone and made him wince. Mental pain shot through him without thehassle of words, just pure feeling.

His back was to her, and oh how he'd wanted to keep walking. He'd made arrangements with Cuddy to meet Stacy face to face several days earlier and had deliberately avoided the time and place they'd talked about. Not because he didn't want to see her, but because seeing her brought a tide of emotions in him he didn't want to face.

"Stacy." He would acknowledge her. Even if he wanted to make a fast get away.

[OOC: Will be in and out this weekend. My dad had knee replacement surgery and is in hospital across town, he's doing well but we're going back and forth to see him and such. Also, Stacy might notice he's shaved recently. The stubble is growing back, but it's only been a couple days since he shaved so i's no as much as usual]

Stacy had begun to wonder if maybe he'd shown up at the appointed time and place after all, but his posture and the stiffening of his demeanor told her that her initial instincts were correct. Whether he didn't want to see her or not wasn't the factor...it was that he didn't, or couldn't. Biting her lip, Stacy took a moment before approaching.

Her steps carried her around to face him, and with a soft jolt she realized that his face had been recently shaven. There was growth on his face as always, but it was less than she remembered, less than he usually kept.

"How have you been?" It was all she could manage, but her eyes didn't leave his face.

[OOC: Okay, got it! I hope your father does well!]

He shrugged just slightly, and riased his left hand to rub over his face. The bristles that marked his chin scratched his palm.

"Not the vacation I was looking for," he remarked, shifting his eyes to indicate the lodge at large.

He pulled his gaze down, to look her over. "You look...good."
