in a backwards area when you go into a liquor store (you can't even buy beer in a grocery store here!) and ask for Mead...the attendent tell you they don't have any - but if you mix lemonade with Guiness, it tastes just the same

I looked up the shipping regulations at http://www.gotmead.com and basically, residents of Montana and North Dakota are screwed. About the only way I can see to accomplish it is with a runner, and since that is illegal, I'd never suggest it.
I'll have to remember to stop at Pirtles (or however that is spelled) next time I get sent to KC.
Do you want me to bring up one of the bottles from here next weekend? We still have a Gibson's from ADF days, and there is a Sky River from a while back too. Do you have any idea how long mead stays drinkable?

Naw, that's okay. I appreciate the offer, but I'd hate to deprive you of it. I would probably not be able to drink the whole bottle anytime soon anyway. I was looking more for one of the small bottles like pyrtle's used to come in (small like a beer bottle).
I think it stays good for quite a while, especially since they're wax sealed - but you might want to check with Sandi or call them.
mead, revisited...herbmcsidheDecember 8 2004, 20:42:36 UTC
There's an article in today's NY Times that may help with this (eventually):
WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 - If the Supreme Court argument Tuesday on interstate wine sales proves to be a reliable roadmap to the eventual decision, consumers who want to order wine directly from out-of-state wineries will soon be able to do so with the court's blessing.
The justices appeared notably unmoved by the arguments offered by New York and Michigan in defense of laws that prohibit the direct shipment of wine from other states while permitting in-state wineries to ship their products to their customers' homes.
