Recently, I commented to someone that you don't hear about kids getting stuck in wells anymore. I wondered about that, and now I see that a toddler was just rescued from a well in Alabama today.

Tomorrow night, I'll be going to Democrats Abroad Sweden's election party. It starts at 11pm, and runs until 6am. I wonder if the election will be settled ( Read more... )

Ohio may actually stand a chance of winning Kerry, to be honest. There's a huge gay population and a very huge student body with OSU that is VERY pro-Kerry.

The line at my polling place was two hours long, and as of 30 minutes ago it was still as long as it was when I got there at 7:30.

Shit that doesn't sound good for me. I should have gotten an absentee ballot. I can't be standing that long!

Why does everyone think that Bush is going to win? Is it just preparing yourself psychologically for the worst? Granted, it is a possibility, but not a liklihood. I think Bush will win Florida. But not because he'll get more votes -but because officials have been pulling sneaky things.

Ohio is dead even. Pollsters don't poll new voters. Pollsters don't poll people without landlines. More new voters have been registered for this election than ever before -far more! Gore lost by some 500 votes in Florida -Kerry's numbers in Ohio are enough to secure it. And Kerry has PA. Why doesn't anybody see this?

I dunno, I'm feeling slightly optimistic.

I'm not going to the Dublin Democrats party, though, that just seems to be tempting fate.

I'm feeling optimistic because of the young voter turn out. I guess they're completely clueless as to the young voters, and that it'll be a deciding factor. Most young voters (18-29, I think), they say, are for Kerry. I am, at any rate.

well at the moment it looks like Kerry is going to lose.

This saddens me, but I will keep hopeful. I got discouraged when I went to vote tonight, so many people that are votingfor Bush for DUMB reasons. FOr Example, this guy who told cameramen that he voted because "I am a hunter, I am a religious man, and so is Bush, so I dont trust Kerry and I dint' vote fer im"

Yes, great representation of middle america.
