When I was young (read: until I was twelve) I misunderstood the term overcast in regards to weather forecasting. When they said it was overcast out I thought that that meant they had screwed up the foreCASTING and overCAST. So when I heard the weather was overcast I'd be like: Oh shit they screwed up again.

Yeah.

I'm an idiot.

Essentially I thought that the weather condition "overcast" had something to do with the meteorologist making a mistake. Since forecasting is making a prediction about the weather I thought OVERcasting meant that they had overshot their estimations in the forecast. I thought the term overcast merely meant that a mistake had been made in the forecast.

I was merely making my idiocy public knowledge.
