...they de-listed Dancer From The Dance and Mayor of Castro Street???

Holy Shit, every time I see a list on this it gets worse and worse.

Not only is Dancer delisted, searching for dancer from the dance doesn't turn up the current edition in at least the first three or four pages. I finally had to choose an out-of-print edition and click on the author's name to get access to the current edition. So it's far worse than some authors' egos not getting stroked -- their works are being buried and hidden from standard searches.

ETA: I looked through all four pages of search results, and it isn't there at all.

and The Naked Civil Servant, what the hell.

There was a link on ohnotheydidnt about this mess earlier this evening: I'm stunned by how patently obvious the stupidity of the 'let's cover our asses' statement from Amazon is.
Damn.

It's beyond deplorable. What's with the hard-right backlash? Who has taken control of Amazon?

They say it's a glitch, but time will tell if they actually mean it:

I don't see why they can't just tag something "adult" rather than going the extra step of de-ranking it especially considering the vast majority of people buying from the site are adults themselves.

Vast majority? Hell, almost everyone: Amazon doesn't do paypal, which is, to my knowledge, the only way a non-adult can have a paying presence on the interwebs without a credit card.

I've never heard of/read "Hello, Cruel World: 101 Alternatives to Suicide for Teens, Freaks, and Other Outlaws" but I'll just assume it's title is pretty descriptive and throw up. We can only prevent teens from committing suicide AFTER they've turned 18?

That...sounds...like...a good...plan.

OH WAIT.

I only used them to get out-of-print stuff and rare video games I couldn't get in Montreal. I guess I won't be using them anymore.
