What we are told, typically, is that we should be happy in who we are.  Yet we are also told to work to the best of our abilities.  This changes who we are, so that in working to the best of our abilities, we are to never be satisfied.  In order to want to be better, we must look at ourselves and see where we can instigate improvements, thereby ( Read more... )

If you are never happy with yourself at this moment, then you will never find happiness. Happiness isn't to be sought out for a future version of yourself. Yeah you gotta have a goal and expectations and strive to be the best you can be, but that means using what you already have.

Don't be afraid to look at the darker aspects of yourself because then you are hiding from yourself and I guess you can be sorta happy, but it's kind of ignorant bliss and leads to feeling lost.

How about this...Be happy with who you are, but be happier in seeing yourself grow. I think that's a better way for me to have phrased it.
