I’ve written home for some things that got ruined when ink spilled all over the inside of my bag, like more writing implements to replace the pens that broke- turns out it was more than just one- and a chemistry book and a dictionary and most especially money. Also food, because the cafeteria is in a state of uncertainty and I miss my mother’s ( Read more... )

Ochibi's real name really IS Koshimae?! Woah... I saw that kid from Shitenhouji calling him that, but I never would have thought...

This is bad, nya!

[OOC: I. LOVE. YOUR. SHINJI.]

But, Echizen-kun is related to Echizen Nanjirou... Ryuuzaki-sensei told us so...

((ooc: I do want to mention that I love the way you play Ibu. ^_________^))

Are you sure? Perhaps she was telling you he wasn't, because she thought people might incorrectly assume that. Either that or there might have been some sort of misunderstanding.
If Tooyama-kun keeps calling him Koshimae, even though everybody else calls him Echizen, it really does seem as though he knows something that we don't. At first I thought Echizen- Koshimae, I mean- was a secret agent or something, but if he was he wouldn't draw that much attention to himself by playing tennis the way he does, would he?

No, I'm pretty sure Ryuuzaki-sensei told us that Echizen was Echizen Nanjirou's son, and that she'd been his tennis coach in middle school. I think that Tooyama might be somewhat confused...

He was not acting very confused at all. In my opinion Tooyama-kun knew exactly what he was talking about. He certainly seemed very sure of himself.
Koshimae might have misled Ryuuzaki-san somehow. He could deceive the entire crowd at our tennis match into thinking that it was my fault he got cut by the flying splinters of his tennis racket, so it's obvious he's skilled at deceiving people. Perhaps he is a secret agent after all. I wonder whether he's spying on something here at this tennis camp. I wouldn't have thought there was much to spy on here though.

You shouldn't assume things, Shinji. If Echisen says his name is read Echisen, it probably is. Tooyama-kun made an honest mistake.

But if Niou-san said his name was Echizen, then people might not believe him...so why believe Echizen- I mean Koshimae- when he says so?

Does he have any reason to lie about it? Name is a part of the man you are. There's no point in changing it.

I watched a match between Rikkai and Seigaku once where Niou-san and Yagyuu Hiroshi pretended to be each other. If they can pretend to be people they're not, why not Koshimae?

I really think Koshimae just wants people to think he's related to Echizen Nanjirou for the attention he gets. Those people from Sports Illustrated spend too much time hanging around Seigaku, and I'm sure it's all his fault.

Koshimae is good at misleading people. He misled everyone watching our match into thinking it was my fault he got his eyelid cut. He might have simply told everybody that, and since the kanji for Koshimae and Echizen is the same, they might have just believed him.
I still don't think it should be allowed for him to call himself by a name that isn't strictly his. You should get Ryuuzaki-san to do something about it.
