At least I can shoot fairly well now, but...

Mm. My... er. Combat skills are still a bit lacking, I'm starting to realize.

Nothing besides basic adrenaline-fueled fist fighting and... very basic self-defense.

Would anyone care to help me with this?

Safety training and target practice come first, obvously. But once that's done with you can start coming with me to hunt. Can't learn nearly as much firing at paper targets as you can at live ones.
