Probably. I don't like this. But I've somewhat resigned myself somewhat to the fact that this place is going to mess with people no matter what we do, if it wants it enough. We just have to pick up the pieces.

That doesn't mean we have to like it, though. Or let them go without a fight.

Because even if things fall apart, they can almost always be rebuilt. What's that old saying... "the only constants in life are death and taxes". And there's no taxes here, and death isn't permanent.
