うっす:)
First, I applaud you for being able to sew, that is totally amazing. I'm sure that once you finish the dress it will be lovely.
As for parents being problematic, I completely understand. However, if they are lacking in support for your weight-loss goals, then you need to ask someone else (and you have a very sweet significant other who would probably be the right person) to help support you.
Small steps work best, in my experience.

Best of luck :)

If it makes you feel better, I can't ever find any dresses or skirts that I like or that look good on me T_T
as for the weight loss goals, you just need to ignore the influences around you (for example Brad saying that he doesn't want me to stop being squishy), and make goals for yourself, and just go week by week. I used Wii Fit to track myself. I didn't even cut anything out of my diet. I've just started biking a lot, and not over eating at meals, and not snacking all day long. (I have a problem that I eat for the taste and when I'm bored, not just b/c I'm hungry-- I gained a LOT since college, and I've been trying to drop it, so I can, you know, fit into my work clothes). But yes, I'd try it week by week, that way the goal time seems smaller and smaller.
and you can write me any time for hugs and support ^_^

**Hugs**

If it helps I'm in a similar boat. I can't find much in the way of dresses either.

I'm here if you need someone to talk to.
