So, every Saturday my family and I have a lunchtime tradition, and that tradition is BBQ. Well, not really, since we don't have a grill, and we're all hopeless in actually grilling, so we buy it from a nearby place. But we have meat and chicken and potato salad and fries. I don't know if you have access to a community pool (or maybe there's one you could use as your uni? My school, students got in free w/ ID if the swim team or a class didn't need it). Anyway, my point is that I took a water aerobics class in uni and it can be one of the most beneficial ways to work out for people with injuries or painful joints. The buoyancy of the water is a lot easier on your body than plain concrete, plus it helps keep you cool as well, so you get a lot better cardio bang for your buck (you don't feel like you're working as hard, because your body doesn't have to fight to sweat as well).
