For anyone who's still having problems...

OKAY. Here's what you do:
1. Create a gmail account. You will never even have to use it.
2. Change your settings on said gmail account - click the "settings" tab in the top right corner, and then click the "forwarding" tab. Set it so that it forwards emails to: [INSERT YOUR HOTMAIL/YAHOO ACCOUNT].
3. Go on LJ

The lack of email notifications doesn't bother me, but I was just wondering: If LJ doesn't send notifications to your hotmail account, then how does making a new gmail account help? Wouldn't it just NOT send the notifications to the gmail one, instead of not sending them to your normal email account? Therefore, the gmail account has nothing to forward to your hotmail? *is confused*

I really don't know but for one reason or another it works, I'm responding to this through my email rather than having to actually go and check how many comments there were like I've been having to

Hm, it was weird, right after I asked the first time they started working again for like a day then went out so I finally did this and now they work period, haha
