I had a doctor's appointment recently and was sent to the other end of the office to wait to have blood drawn. Never a fun prospect. The woman beside me was having issues with verifying insurance coverage so I overheard her frustrating phone conversation. Oh, not to worry. A response was never really expected. I have issues with both perfectionism and procrastination and between the two it's a miracle I ever get anything posted.

I'm glad you were there for her Moogie! So many times I've seen people in public who are upset and everyone walks by, looks awkward or doesn't seem to notice... mostly I imagine because people don't want to feel uncomfortable by helping them. I try to help those people but you can't always and I guess sometimes you can't be bothered? Or something. But I am glad you helped her.

And I gotta say... the story you just told me reminds me greatly of one I heard recently about how it feels for aboriginal australians to go to the doctor, and that just emphasises again how unfair our health systems are, and how discriminatory in general. I dislike that intensely.

Until I began reading your blog and that of tevriel I was ignorant of the plight of the aboriginal australians. I was also reading that racism extends to other non-caucasian people. Sadly, the USA is apparently not the only backward country.
