I'm torn. For my Self and the Scholarly Essay course, I have to choose a topic for a semester long research paper. Normally I would have no idea where to begin, but this time I have two decent sounding ideas

talking about women sounds much more interesting than a string theory. what the hell is a string theory anyways? it sounds limited in its parameters whereas if you talk about women , it kind of gives you free reign to talk about anything. good luck!

generally with essays i usually tell people to pick the option that excites them the most, but here i'd say that while both are interesting ideas, the second might get you a better result in terms of an essay that is both about you and about something scholarly without getting being too problematic. (or, y'know, i could be completely misinterpreting the theme of this class. whatever.)

also, throw that recipe my way, man! since we don't have a microwave and i'm too lazy to bake potatoes in the oven, i've been itching for something to do with the one that's sitting in my cabinet, all alone and useless.
