Highly possible

At work, there was this epiphany I had, this moment of perfect clarity. It was a lot like this scene in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. I decided to quit, though a coworker told me to wait until the day was over to consider. But during the day, I did think about what I would do if I quit, and a road trip was one of them. I always wanted to take ( Read more... )

Well, that sounds great like a "Thelma & Louise" kind of thing. Nevertheless, I believe ***OPINION - OPINION*** much consideration needs to be taken before you quit. I know you have thought about quitting before today but I mean more so what you will do - financially - if you decide to quit. Do you have an emergency cash fund set up to cover any bills, expenses you will have until you find another job??? Do you have enough money to take this road trip and ALSO the finances to live off of when the road trip is over? I mean I would love to just say good bye today and then be FREEEEEEEE, but reality is that $$ is needed to survive unless you are looking to be homeless and really don't mind that life style. I mean I am not one for free-loading off of friends and family, but hey, some people are cool with that ( ... )

Is this the first time you read my journal? You would know my mom died in June and as a result I live in her home now, which is actually mine now. The bills are paid and I have more than enough to live off of for a good two years, not including money thats still coming to me. I'm tired of this job physically and everything else emotionally. I see the road trip as a way to just get away from everyone and everything for a while and at least enjoy myself and perhaps see that theres more to whats around me.

Obviously if I have the money to just up and buy a bike, I have the money to support the trip and be fine. I don't make much money. I could get a minimum wage job and be making just a dollar less than I am now, with a lot less hassle.

Actually after I commented I went to your page and began reading your older entries and with all due respect, I am really sorry about your mom. I am sure she was a wonderful person and she will be missed ( ... )

I know you read my journal, but had you paid attention, one thing I considered, was quitting work so I could go to school full time. As it is, I get up at 3am for work and fall asleep when I get home. Were I to quit, I could go to school and not worry about work. When I say I have enough for two years, I mean that I can choose not to work there for two years. I wouldn't use it to live off of. I've already considered buying a cheap house and renting it out. I've already planned on using this money to find ways to support me ( ... )
