The never ending in-law saga

Steve called his parents yesterday, for the first time since his fight with his mom the other day. I figured it would have blown over because it was a stupid thing to fight about, especially since I found out that Steve HAD told her we were going away that weekend--she just forgot. So she was just being crazy for nothing

gah! that is simply ridiculous. it sounds like she really does need to find a hobby - or at least realize that if her sons are happy with their matches, then she has SUCCEEDED and she should be happy, too! i can fly out to NJ and teach her how to knit, though it doesn't sound like she's very much fun. :)

She can be fun, when she's not being crazy. I don't know why proximity is so important to her.

Steve's mom reminds me of Dave's mom and that scares me for both of us ... all four of us, really. I'm sorry you have to deal with stuff like that. It's hard to ignore it.

hmm. i have horrible period cramps as well. i mean passing out, writhing in pain kinda cramps. i never went to a doctor about it though, i just thought nothing could be done about that. achem... anyway...

about your inlaws... maybe it upsets you so much because.. maybe you want things to be good between you guys and them. they're your in laws and there's a certain amount of approval i'm sure you want, whether you realize it or not. i dunno. that's the only reason i can think of..? lol. but what the hell.. you can't just up and leave your lives behind just so you can be closer to them. are they really that selfish? i mean what did they expect? you have lives. you have jobs. you can't just leave that behind.
