One of Britain's favourite tv presenters is in a critical condition in hospital tonight. He is a presenter of the Top Gear programme and he crashed in a jet propelled car at around 280 mph while filming. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

The latest news is he has a brain injury but he is in a stable condition and has shown some improvement overnight.
