♛ CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Ichigo Kurosaki // Shirosaki
Series: BLEACH
Ability: Ichigo has many powers and abilities - many of which are unrefined and rough around the edges. He doesn't use them well and is, for obvious reasons, a bit dangerous. His 'other half' - Shirosaki - however, is more than capable of handling them with a deadly potiential. [ Note! He's got a lot of abilities canonically and I cut back on them a good deal. D: I'll skin them down more, if need be! ]
  • Ichigo is able to see ghosts or 'spirits' that wonder around. This power enables him to speak and interact freely with them at all times. Even so, it's not a power he enjoys as he can never 'turn it off', putting him at the mercy of wandering spirits constantly seeking his assistance.
  • Despite his young age, Ichigo is a sword master and a well-versed street punk with fist and feet of fury. He is able to effectively wield his personal zanpakuto with ease. Its said his zanpakuto has a spirit of its own - something Ichigo and Shirosaki both respect. While being very reliable with a weapon, Ichigo - unlike Shirosaki - much prefers using his fist and feet to make a physical impression.
  • Ichigo and Shirosaki's main ability is being able to conjure a powerful blast in the shape of a crescent moon called 'Getsuga Tenshou'. Its a purely destructively ability that is able to leave nasty marks in solid structures and do considerable - if not permanent - damage to a human being. When paired with his sword, it's a touch more deadly and perhaps even fatal against a human opponent. Ichigo is wary of using it, however, and only practies or uses it as a defensive measure.
  • Ichigo's most terrifying power is what he calls his Hollow powers. The result of a strange accident, when tapping into these powers, Ichigo conjures a strange white and red mask and his abilities increase to a frightening level. He reaches speeds that leave him unseen to the untrained eye, takes on a level of stamina and endurance that is unmatched, and gives all his attacks a startling boost. While this ability is amazing and perhaps desired by many, it eats away drastically at his conscience whenever he uses it - pushing him farther from control and making more room for Shirosaki. It also pushes his mind from its usual style of combat and defense to something darker, something that could be described as purely instinctual. It also has a time limit: current, he can only use this ability for two minutes.
  • A victim of 'multiple personalities', Ichigo's strange abilities are both a blessing and a curse. All of his known abilities - outside of his 'fighting' and swordsmanship - were bestowed to him after encountering his 'hollow' self - Shirosaki. While he can use all of these abilities, so can his twisted other half, who can use them much better and much more dangerously. The two are constantly at odds and battling for control of their body, making his powers and sometimes his actions unpredictable.

History: Ichigo Kurosaki was born and raised in Moonflow, Deningrad to a cheerful couple in charge of a small clinic. He spent much of his time growing up within the clinic, constantly tailing behind his mother with little desire to associate with any children, be they his actual neighbors or classmates. The only exception was one girl - whom he regularly spent time with, due to other children picking on him; something brought on by their deeming him crazy for the 'ghosts' he could see. She defended him frequently as a child and despite how distraught Ichigo would become during and after these incidents, he would calm quickly in his mother's presence.

One day, during a walk home, Ichigo and his mother were talking and laughing - a usual occurrence between the two. But Ichigo stopped, seeing someone in the distance. To this day, Ichigo cannot clearly tell you what it really was, only that it appeared to be someone in danger. Scared for their safety, Ichigo rushed to them and in turn, his mother rushed to him, shouting of danger. The next thing he knew he was waking up, cradled to his unmoving mother's chest. That was where his father found him that evening.

From that day forward, Ichigo regularly skipped school to walk along the spot where his mother died. He would do this for hours, pausing only to squat and rest before continuing on. He was searching for his mother, a practice he continued for months to come.

Needless to say, after his mother's death, his persona changed slightly - less of a cry baby and more brash and harsh. This resulted in Ichigo ending up in fights with his classmates, many of which he initially lost. As time went on, these losses became victories until one day - more of Ichigo's powers surfaced. During one of his fights with a group of older children, Ichigo Kurosaki, age eleven, released a terrifying blast on a pair of teenagers that resulted in both being left in critical condition. Terrified of what he'd done, Ichigo told himself he would never fight again.

Such a vow didn't last long. Over the few days that followed the attack, a strange voice continued to echo in the back of his mind, continuously becoming louder and louder with each day that passed. And then finally, when Ichigo found himself cornered by the friends of the injured teens, he surfaced. He didn't know how it happened exactly, just that the world around him was suddenly dark and distant. And when he finally came to, he was aware of the damage he had done - standing over the group of injured teenagers, covered in their blood.

Ichigo was terrified of the new development, unsure who to go to, what to do to keep these things from happening again. It was then that he met a strange man - a shop keeper, he claimed to be - by the name of Kisuke Urahara. The man knew of his powers and offered to teach him how to properly control them, if Ichigo felt he was up to the challenge. Ichigo took a few days to consider the offer, wary of the stranger, before he agreed and began the harsh training to control the strange darkness that loomed in the back of his mind.

The training began swiftly and during it, Ichigo learned much of the presence that followed him. Shirosaki, a near carbon copy of himself - with ivory skin and black and gold eyes - that loomed in the back of his mind, fighting for control of his body. The two fought continuously within the confines of his mind and each time, the match was close but forever unfinished. And finally, upon completing it, Shirosaki acknowledged Ichigo's strength as the dominating personality in their body, but swore to become the 'King' if Ichigo ever slipped up in his strength.

Ichigo was proud of his victory but before he could become too cozy in his pride, Kisuke thrust more training onto him, to make him stronger, to keep him as the dominating persona. This training came with many skills - control of his powers which he came to call Getsuga Tenshou - and the use of a large black blade he came to know as Zangetsu. What he was learning did not stop there, however, and once he had accomplished that much, Kisuke introduced him to a new training, one that once more put him at Shirosaki's mercy.

Ichigo and Shirosaki fought once more, a ruthless battle that seemed to go on for days within his mind. This battle was again for Ichigo to prove his mastery of their body and now, of their refined powers. When their battle finally ended, Ichigo 'returned' from his battle against Shirosaki once more victorious and with an understanding of how to tap into the powers his 'other self' was able to use. With such understanding came a strange mask he is able to call at will, allowing him to tap into the terrifying powers Shirosaki is able to utilize. Kisuke seemed content with this, only explaining to him once that relying too heavily on these new found powers would result in constant battles between Shirosaki and Ichigo.

Understanding what he was told, Ichigo returned to his normal life, never seeing Kisuke again. As the years passed, Ichigo found himself using his powers very little - nothing outside of testing them to see how far they could go. But even such tests have resulted in the presence of Shirosaki becoming steadily more prominent once more. When his invitation to Estrasia came upon him, he accepted, looking at it as a chance to perhaps be rid of Shirosaki once and for all.
Personality: Ichigo is a strange boy - in both appearance and behaviors.

Most people will tell you Kurosaki Ichigo is a violent and angry teenager who you should avoid tangling with at all costs. He prefers this image, it seems, forever wearing a scowl and seeming perpetually unhappy with the world around him. He easily pulls off the tough guy image, and for this reason most people tend to steer clear of him except for a select few - and with good reason. Ichigo can be rather short-tempered and this can end badly for many. He claims that he doesn’t care what others think about him but this isn't entirely true. In his own ways, he values the opinions of his friends and family to make himself better whenever possible.

Despite his seeming tough exterior, Ichigo is in truth a very compassionate individual. He acts as the proper big brother figure to his siblings and, in general, proves to be quite protective of his friends and family. He never hesitates to come to their rescue, often risking everything if it means their safety. His drive to protect others is fueled by his seemingly endless level of determination - something that keeps him fighting until the very end. When fighting, as well as being determined, he tends to act quite cocky. He is known to taunt and tease in battle, even bragging at times. Still, when he loses or fails, he tends to hold it against himself and reacts negatively - in ways of heavy depressions and distancing himself from the few who are close to him.

One thing that is seemingly at odds with his appearance is his intelligence. Despite his rebellious and rude attitude, he has proven time and again to be quite bright. He is able to maintain a high placement in his classes as well as proving to catch onto things rather quickly when the need arises. He has proven to be quite calculating and analytical at times. Even so, he proves to forget names and faces now and again, or even mispronounce or misread them now and again.

Ichigo has also proven to be strangely charismatic. While he is loud, rude and blunt with his explanations and feelings, he is able to give surprising pep talks and motivational speeches to friends and foes alike. He has proven to be able to sway people’s opinions of him with his strange words of wisdom and gain powerful respect all the while. These types of things reveal his compassionate nature, as his reasoning for doing many things often ties in to wanting to protect his friends and comrades with every part of his being.

Despite the person Ichigo chooses to be, his other personality is everything he never wanted to be. 'Hollow' Ichigo - or Shirosaki, as he has been dubbed - is a cold, merciless being. Brutal and sadistic, he's a force to be reckoned with in numerous senses. He thinks only about fighting and destruction, seeking to seeking to wreak havoc on his surroundings without a second thought. He yearns to be in control, constantly battling with Ichigo's original conscience to be the dominate personality of their body. And when that control is granted to him, Shirosaki reveals himself in all his deplorable glory.

Even with such drastic flaws, Shirosaki has his own admirable traits. If nothing else, he has some form of respect for his 'host' body. So long as he finds Ichigo is more powerful and making full use of his potiential, he is willing to acknowledge that Ichigo deserves to be the 'King' of their body for the time being. He has made it quite known, however, that should his 'King' slip up, he'll take over fully without any hesitation. On that same note, should their body be put in harm's way, Shirosaki is willing to defend it. If their body were to die, after all, he'd cease to exist.

But in truth, Shirosaki's persona is simply the dark shadow Ichigo himself never wishes to be.

♜ SAMPLES
Third Person Sample: "Not too bad, I guess."

The door slipped open as the teen stepped inside, the large heavy bag slung easily across one shoulder. "Better than the old man and the group of damn ghosts back home," Ichigo noted darkly, kicking one foot back to snap the door closed behind him to shuffle deeper into the room.

His bag fell easily from his arm, dropping onto the bed and bouncing atop the covered springs. He spared it a quick glance - thoughtful, as if he were considering unpacking that very minute - before he turned his attention about the room once more. Definitely better than home, he idled, stepping away from the bed to cross the short distance to the window - peering out to the stretch of the campus below. His eyes roamed the scene, placing the minor details and seeking out something of importance before he paused, eyes clipping sharply back towards something that lurked out of the corner of one eye.

There hoovered a strange, faded image of a human - a student, he would have guessed, were it not for the distinct transperency to their figure. It hoovered in place, feet lost to the air around it as its head turned in each direction. It was looking for him, he knew. They were always looking for him, seeking out his constant assistance that he was rapidly coming to the conclusion that he was tired of giving. But maybe they were looking for someone else, he mused. Or so he had tried to convince himself before the spirit's head turned in his drection, eyes wide as it stared up at him hopefully before it was moving, hurrying in his direction.

The corner of one eye twitched and his fingers curled, one hand lifting to slam harshly against the wall nearest the window in his irritation. His lips rolled back, flashing his teeth in a snarl and he shook his head. "Can't I even get settled in for five damn minutes before these bastards start showing up!" A string of curses continued from his lips until a low growl cut through them. In the back of his mind, something was laughing - taunting him, teasing him, mocking him. But he tried to ignore it, to focus his attention on finding any other strange figures - spirits - that lingered around the campus.

It wasn't worth getting upset over, he told himself calmly, not even fucking worth it.

First Person Sample: --stay out there, dammit!

[ There's a loud slam of a door and the strange device hits the ground, directing the feed towards the door. A pair of feet pass the feed, a string of irritated and otherwise unpleasant words spilling from the teen's lips. He doesn't cross into the range of the feed - but his voice still resounds clearly. ] Isn't there anywhere I can go to get away from these things?!

[ And suddenly, it's a bit quieter in the room, the only sound being the soft murmurs of frustration still spilling from his lips. The feed remains on the door but nothing seems out of ordinary about it. And then, a blur of blue and red hit the wall nearest the door, pooling beside the device. There's the soft scoff of a button against denim and it seems Ichigo is busy undressing when suddenly-- ]

You bastard! [ Still, nothing passes through the door. But a head of red hair does cross into the corner of the feed, one hand slamming onto the doorknob to twist it and thrust it open. ] Didn't I tell you to leave me the hell alone? [ A sharp point - an order for seemingly nothing to leave the room - ] --And stay out!

[ Before the door promptly slams shut. ]
