The end may be near?

Well, I'm sure that everyone knows of the latest going-on's (did I just make that 'word' up?) at ff.net. And all I have to say to that is, bullshit. That is bullshit, seriously. Tell me, please, the difference between writing fanfiction ( Read more... )

Well put! I was just thinking about it, and after heading over to ff.net myself and checking out what was said, they make it sound as though we're plagiarising. Now, forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought that the point of referencing was to give credit so you weren't plagiarising. And I'll be buggered if this isn't the case, because it'll mean that 6 years of higher and tertiary school education is fraudulent!

And you're right, all movies have music - even silent movies have music (which rather defeats the name of the genre but you know what I mean)!

Great, just excuse me while I stalk off and drink a million litres of Coke and eat tons of Skittles to calm down ...

Why thank you. =)

If they can prove to me that artist (though, I wouldn't put it past some) are actually complaining of the usage of their music in fanfiction (and so many other random places throughout everyday life) then fine, I'll accept it. Until then - MEH.

(I LUV Skittles! =) The yellow and grape combo is my favorite. Have one for me.)

Here *passes a lemon and grape combo* - you can have it, I'll just keep on eating the apple and strawberry ones!

I don't think you've got too much to worry about with the artists complaining though - I just had an image of Britney Spears suing over extra publicity. It didn't last long.

Glad that there'll be new chapters to read - I'm in love with James from Ride the Wind at the moment, hehe.

"...and lose my reviews (of which have given me considerable criticism, confidence and many smiles)..."

If it's losing the reviews that worries you, you CAN edit your posted chapters w/o any effect on them. You just upload the 'new' version of the chapter into document manager and then in 'Edit Story' screen go to 'Replace the text of an existing chapter with new content' (it's underneath 'Submit new chapter'). Then just select the chapter that you're uploading the edited version of, below that pick the document you uploaded in document manager and hit 'Replace Chapter'. It shouldn't have any effect on your reviews whatsoever, because you never deleted the chapter.

I'm thinking that I'm starting to agree with this 'Great Break' more and more.
Nothing has happened to my ff.net stories, but I haven't updated them in over a year either..

Can you please explain to me how to join that community?
I can click on the link to get there.. but then I don't know how to become a member.

I hope nothing DOES happen to your stories, Keeks, I love them! (you should update...*grins*)
