CA sounds better then here, currentally. Lucky for me, I'm going back home, next week for a bit (get a break from the 105 degree, wet heat).
I do miss the Mojave Desert region... now I undertand why people want to move out there so freaking badly. Someday, I'll be able to drive up and see you.
West Virginia didn't have power for a whole week, almost. Naturally, Da was panicking about the forty pounds of Alaskan halibut that were in his deep freezer. *amused eyeroll* How are you doing, soldier?
Ugh, there is nothing worse than spoiled food *covers nose reflexively* What I can't stand about losing power is showering in the dark. My apartment has no windows, so even in daylight, I've got to shower with candles and lanterns. I know a guy who used to just shower at the Y when that happened.
I have one, tiny window in the bathroom that's the size of my laptop (I look at it as better then nothing). But, it doesn't help with lighting.
I was tempted to just shower at the Student Union fitness gym at my workplace. But, they had the same power/water issues that I had. Life didn't seem to like me that day...
