X-3 (no spoilers)

caught the midnight show (first ones in line). amazingof course, sooo many ways they took liberties and broke away from the real x-men storylines, but i made peace with that back in the first movie. i started thinking of rogue as this seperate "marie" girl with similar powers, and it's easier to watch that way (though i'm still not happy with where ( Read more... )

Good luck with Japanese! Gambatte!

I'm excited about X-3 today, but I agree, I'm a bit dissapointed with the changes.

Oh. And you know why there was no Nightcrawler? Too many BLUE MUTANTS. T_T And is it just me or are Jean Grey and Cyclops ANNOYING?

i don't remember where i read this, but i'm pretty sure it had something to do with alan cummings' overly vocal dislike of going through the make-up process. he really detested it and said so in several interviews (i heard he also said something about bryan singer?), he even said something about how he hopes his character gets killed off. very unprofessional, inappropriate, and unappreciative for his first box-office breaking movie. don't know if he walked out, if they cut him out, or if it was a mutual agreement.

i haven't found any official statement about it (then again i haven't looked for one yet), so just take it as a rumor. then there's the rumor you heard about too many blue mutants, which i think is silly, and another rumor that they let him go because he was drawing attention to himself being gay, and they thought that would be bad for ticket sales. i don't think those are very likely, though, so i'm trying to believe it was because of the first reason i stated. i'm hoping to find a confirmation somewhere though.

Ohhhh thanks for the tip on staying till the very end!! I'll have to keep that in mind when I see the movie! :) From the look of the fighting scene clips, they do look kickass! :)

Oh! And best of luck on Japanese!!! Errr.. I thought I didn't have to take a language class but actually I do still! :/ Was gonna continue with learning more Filipino but I don't like their system on you having to perform on stage in a dialogue in Tagalog with a WHOLE bunch of other students from all the the colleges on this island in Flip class, watching you @_@ Never again, I'm just gonna take Japanese now XD

The first two were okay. And the reason I didn't like the 3rd is because I like the comics. I hate what they did to cyclops.

i like the comics too, and i hate what they did to my precious rogue. ;_; but i've never been a cyclops fan so i can't really sympathize with you there.

but that's what i was saying, it's hard to enjoy the movies if you're focusing on how it differs from the comics, because there are so many things that are changed, omitted, ignored, and that they suited to their plot needs (rogue, iceman, collosssus, and lady deathstrike are just a few that suffered major overhauls), and that's in all three movies. but if you look at them as a sort of alternate universe x-men (like how you would read fanfics or something) it becomes a lot more enjoyable. :]

the only thing i still regret even after enjoying the movies myself is that there are thousands of people who will never know the original characters and storylines. e.g., there are so many teenage girls that are like, "omg i love rogue, she is super sweet" and i just want to sit them down and tell them about the real rogue (starting with how her name is not marie).
