I wish I could've been there. Of course, I wish you and Crow could've been down on the Cowlitz with us as well. We're going again next weekend for a couple of days, and as I said, hopefully some nice shiny chrome coloured fall Kings to catch! The Nisqually is already open and the Puyallup opens in another day or so.
I'd like to introduce chyara - that's our Kiya - who just got her First Admission and lives in Astoria. Her husband is not of the People, but a much loved in-law as it were and a great fishing pal!

Oak? that's interesting. We use alder for fish:-)
I'm planning to go to the Nisqually every evening that I possibly can after work. There will be more photos :-)
Now get Crow convinced that he needs to bring you over here so he can catch you a salmon, you know, Crow and the Salmon of Wisdom... *WEG*

This was a reverse "Time Team" job where you put it back instead of digging it up.I'm on the right track with one thread at least.....all that pulleys, A frames and blocks although its good to do it historically stylee, maybe a Hiab would be easier on the backs!

wheres me rainbow jumper? mooncatwitch August 29 2006, 15:02:57 UTC
I agree but the weird thing was well no it wasnt weird it was ace how easily Hazel moved up the bloody steep slope when we got gowing it was amazing

the A frame was quite a construction and it was so interesting to see how they worked getting Hazel into the ground and how it looked before and after bloody fascinating - the local press arrived just as it was being lowered in and I am sure they wondered what the heck we were doing but from what I can gather they were actually very positive about the contribution it was and would make to local history and saw the determination and passion of the people doing it

someone did make a comment about cranes and hiabs and needless to say a growl from the dagda made that comment stop where it started ha ha !

with love and hope you are ok

Good thing I didn't turn up with my scrappie mates,we would have built a nice Hiab out of spare bits from the trailer tent,a scooter and a industrial mower.....and painted it pink (but I'm sure if we fetched the robots everybody would have forgiven us).

ha ha oh ace - there were enough scrap vehicles in the farm yard including an old shark nose 6 series Beemer which you could have probably build a conveyer belt and engine to transport said stone to top and painted it any dam colour you wanted - the pig (Truffles) had a bright pink stye!

yay for robots !
