In response to the apocalypse: I only feel this is necessary given "our" (modern society's)inability/unwillingness to do anything about a situation until it becomes a "crisis". Look at the oil "crisis", the economic "crisis", the environmental "crisis"...this is what people understand. Only when things get so bleak and interfere with our day to day lives (shopping, driving, smoking, fucking) as to demand a solution are we moved to action. There is no forethought, no stitches made in time. That is the laziness. Maybe we have to tear down to rebuild. It just seems to me that is the way, as opposed to a painfully slow evolution of consciousness.
I am open to having my mind changed on this issue.
