That was lovely. Nate and Sophie as such gentle, loving parents hits all the right notes with me.

Such a well written piece! Man! There is so much pain in this team now but rly so very believable & gritty & real. Kudos! Random Icon Picker agrees. ;)

Also How do you make someone who doesn’t know fear feel safe again when she finally meets it?

Following instinct, probably created by spending too much damn time around Hardison, Nate reached out and pulled her into a hug, just holding her for a minute like a little girl. Like his little girl. So emotive. Well. DONE.

Thanks! I was kind of worried it was a little out of character for Bastard!Nate but there is some good in him, somewhere, I guess.

At some point I would love to see loving and caring Nate on the show (and not only around Sophie). Because I'm sure that he's exactly this - just buried deep inside.

Lovely!

I kind of think of it as Nate's subconcious being like "I aim all my fatherly love and care at Sam and he died, ergo aiming it at my three pseudo children will result in their deaths. So there's no reason for me to not act like a bastard". Post hoc ergo proctor hoc.

He'll figure out otherwise eventually but...

Thanks!
