So even though I have loved and listened to this song for as long as I can remember (Dad probably had the headphones right up to Mum's tummy when I was in there since he just about wore that Time and Tide record out playing it so much)...I still dont know one thing ( Read more... )

Heheh you just inspired me to watch that video...that maori dancing was doing the strangest things...most bizarre representation of a maori dance I have ever seen. He looked like he was gurning more than anything

kinda looked like he had eaten something tart and didnt like it, but it has become obvious that he is going to be my next lj icon.

the video was freakin brillant, Finn bros. dancing around in breeches is always a good bet. makes me want to go sailing-lol or take the ferry back home to see my folks.

Random note: I haven't forgotten the measurements, I just haven't been able to get to town yet to buy a tailor's tape. x_o

The measurements I got were: b:125 (49), w: 108 (42), h: 129 (50)
but I kept the tape extra slack just to be sure there was room in case I gain even more weight. (ugh!) I'm pretty sure that these are generous measurements as I KNOW I'm not wearing size 20 stuff now... size 16 is what my skirts/dresses now say. (God this makes me feel huge :( )

But by their measurements I guess I'd best fit into one of these:

20W 47 39 50 61½ 17½
or
22W 49 41½ 52½ 61½ 17½

I'm not sure about the low hip, hollow to floor or sleeve inseam measurements as I've never had to have those taken before, but if it helps I am 5'6 tall. o_O

The top is the most important to get right as the alterations can be more extensive.
The skirt measurements that are the most important are the hip, and the length from hip to the ankle(or to the length you want).
Everything else can be easily taylored to fit.
