Michael Sheen, David Warner, TRON ... and Craig "Potty Mouth" Ferguson

Nov 30, 2010 04:53

*sigh* I was depressed, then I was all excited, now I'm depressed again. I've been depressed and really tired for the past several weeks (won't bore you with the details), but I was just about to go to bed tonight as The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was coming on (you know something's wrong when I'm in bed before 5 a.m. nowadays!) until I saw ( Read more... )

Apparently, I'm not the only one complaining about Craig Ferguson not giving his guests a chance to talk. Or is it just coincidence that he acknowledged said fact in tonight's monologue, only two days after I posted this? Could he be reading my blog?

(I decided to post this as a comment rather than an edit to the original entry since no one else had commented. *sniff* Speaking of people who blather on and on talking to themselves ...)

My next WoW picspam is going to be mostly underwater-centric.

Would have sent you a message, but I couldn't.

You have my e-mail address, right? Drop me a line when it's ready! Thanks! (I keep seeing ads for WoW on TV now--the graphics are looking pretty good. I'm just into SL more for the creativity than the graphics, which aren't exactly shabby, although now I've discovered InWorldz is much, much cheaper and growing in popularity. But, seeing as it's still so small, there's not much going on under the water yet. Also, I didn't think I would like combat, but since I got sucked into a warrior RP sim, which I've since left, I kind of started to enjoy it. Now I'm in a more D&D-based RP group that uses the same combat system ... but there's so rarely any use for my weapons. I'm pretty good with projectiles, like a bow and my ice-blast trident, but I never did manage to get the hang of sword/melee-fighting. But being aquatic, I don't have much need for it cuz if any landwalkers come at me with a sword, I just duck under the water, and if they come after me, they drown, hee hee ( ... )

I think I must. I'm afraid I can't remember which one it is, though.

The entry's up, though-- here: http://theblackmeat.livejournal.com/182539.html

Urgh. I hope the ads are decent; most of the TV ads for WoW I've seen over the past six years have been both moderately lame and inconsistent in tone with the game. You can tell that completely different people conceptualize the ads than conceptualize actual game content.

The graphics are slowly getting better-- they still need to refurbish the character models, but I expect that will come eventually. Honestly, I'm okay with WoW's middling graphics. I find it adds a bit of charm.

Some of the very new stuff is very pleasing to the eye, though. I'm not sure how much of it is a technical improvement and how much of it is even better art direction.

Found it, commented. (You've probably noticed and answered already! I can't keep up, lol!)

Sure, the ads are great. Much like movie trailers. And you know how well movie trailers represent what a film is actually going to be like (especially when they put the only good parts of the movie in the ads).

It's pretty clear that the graphics are all drawn by professional artists. Really beautiful. But I too can live with even SL's "middling charm."

"This whole passage amused me."

Joe Pesci voice from Goodfellas: "I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?" ;) (But seriously, folks ... in what way was it amusing? Me and my long passages, eh?)

I'm just waiting for the SL backlash. It's coming, I'm sure of that, but all too slowly. Most "residents" don't realize yet that SL no longer holds a monopoly on virtual worlds.

So Cata ... can you 'splain that to me? What is it and how is it different from ... whatever there was before Cata?
