As I am fighting a sinus infection (nearly 3 weeks now) and digging my way out of the end of semester pile of projects I thought I would share my favorite political comic of the day.
Sure -- if you have a seriously narrow definition of "political."
I invite the political cartoonist to have a long talk with the people of Oakland about, say, why the mayorship of Jean Quan is a great example of how "voting your people into positions of power" may not bring all that much change after all -- and why that might be so. Hint: it's not the city council, and it's not the police chief. But it is structural, yes indeed it is.
Tell the people of Tahrir Square how occupying, slogans and marching don't work and voting does. When the system is rigged, buying into the system is useless.
