I'll admit, I'm kind of surprised you're bothering with the whole name-change thing. I don't know how I'M going to stop writing the name I've known for 25-30 years on envelopes, lol!!

I was real tempted to just leave my name alone but somehow it feels symbolic to change it. Like it's part of truly being married.
I did grow to finally like my last name, although I won't miss its numerous miss-filings either under "L" :)
I confess I still mostly still sign my original name at work out of habit. I'm confused how that works anyway until I get verification for IDPR of the name change? Weird weird weird. It feels like an alias of sorts ;)

puh-leeze. The IDPR? Shouldn't we expect that to get cut out of the state's budget at any minute, lol?
In all seriousness, it shouldn't be a big legal deal. Your name is legally changed. Does the nursing home keep a signature log so they can identify initials and whatnot in charts? That's what I think would actually matter, non?
