babies

My first set of news to share is that I got more baby chickens! The goofy bucket truck neighbor decided to take 200 baby chicks that didn't sell from the nearby tractor supply store for 50 cents each. What the hell is he going to do with 200 chickens? Anyhow, I agreed to take 16 from him even though we have no idea what kind they are OR the sex ( Read more... )

Awwwww! Look at your new babies! I'd love to try raising chickens, but for the wild critters around, I couldn't do it. Plus I've no idea how to go about it. Ohh and there's that TIME thing...So I guess I'll enjoy your baby chicken-people... ;)

Happy Beltaine!

:) I'll just have to start posting more photos then!

And Happy Beltaine to you too! With all the hustle and bustle from my week from hell, it didn't even dawn on me that it was Beltaine. I'll need to work on a way to celebrate *plots*

have a good one!

Heeee wellies.

I love the subtle little word differences we discover. It's a fun word... then again, so is the word golashles :)

Hehe!

I always think of galoshes as those things that Jeremy Fisher wears in the Beatrix Potter book.

I certainly get a child-like pleasure walking around and splashing in rain and mud puddles with them on!

When I was a kid I had a pair with unicorns all over them and I have vivid memories of waiting eagerly for the rain to slow so that I could go play in the puddles :)

They are VERY cute!!!

So many of them, too....they get exponentially cuter as there are more of them together.

I think I especially like that one on the right with the mostly brown body and the beige head. Dunno why, she's just extra pretty.

Yay for more chickens!

Agreed :) They are exponentially cuter in groups! Wish you could have seen them as little fluffy peeps :)

One of the blond ones is so unbelievably tame. I put my hand down in there and he walks up to it and practially puts himself in my hand. If I sit on the upturned bucket he tries to fly up into my lap.

I say 'he' cuz he is the biggest one in there and is already getting a comb. Certainly a very good chance he is a boy :/ I'm already thinking maybe I'll let him replace rooster cogburn as being the flock rooster cuz he's been getting so mean and ornery. We'll see!

I'll have to tell your little favorite that she has an admirer...
