I have a set of the Denise interchangeable needles and a lovely set of knitpicks pretty multi coloured interchangeable too. The latter I use all the time and the Denise I have donated to Boggy's knitting school :)
As an aside when he was "away" at first they said they wanted to teach him EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing... they dont know HOW it works though)but when they found out he was learning to knit they changed their minds because it helps, not only with the eye movement thing but its hypnotic and calms the mind :)
As for the humour thing, OH YES LOL! I am an honoury member of SPLOL (society for the protection of little old ladies) and LASK (league against sock knitters) PMSL!!!!
I love them. Whatsmore theyre really kind too. I have been sent in the post two patterns because I couldnt find a nice long cardi one I liked and at the time they barely knew me. How nice is that.

LASK - I like that - sock knitters seem to be really frowned upon, I noticed that. And I have to ask myself, why would anyone want to wear a pair of knitted socks ??? marks and spencer already do a great line - lol. Hell, even Asda do a great line in lovely soft cotton socks.

And I agree, who would want to.
Ok maybe a few bedsocks and to practise the craft using the round and what have you, if you are not adept at knitting. But they really aren't difficult honestly.
But have you seen them??? They really cant be comfortable. LOL

So I bought deep green and a charcoal grey. Fabooolooos!
I also picked up some in hobbycraft that should have retailed at £3.80 for 50 grammes and got them for 99p each because they were slightly unravelled. That was 100% cotton!!
its a case of having a good look round. If you want to practise knitting you can buy really cheap acrylic wool. Thats what Martyns using and at the moment he's making some really nice cushion covers for the conservatory in two shades of green :D
