Posted this in my art blog but I figured I'd post it here too, since I update that even less frequently than LJ:

Perspective (3-D Anaglyph) (2009)

Watch with red/cyan 3-D glasses. And also go watch it on the link to Vimeo since they won't let me embed HD stuff, apparently. I made this almost a year ago but now it's got a spiffy new soundtrack.

I didn't get the full effect without the 3D glasses (I can't remember what I did with the pair you gave me, and I remember you said I could send away free for them, but who's gonna wait for the terrible USPS system?)

However, I can say stuff about what I DID see.

First off, the music was spot on with the pensive mood of the film. (Or perhaps the music MADE it pensive?)

I liked the scene in the woods because of all the camera angles. It felt intimate and we were up close for a lot of it. The scene in the concrete yard was less so, especially because the girl seemed really frustrated and upset about... something. Not sure what it was exactly she was upset about. I realize the long shots were necessary probably for the 3D effect of her running towards and away from the camera.

Overall, it's a lovely piece and I'm sure the 3D makes a difference. The title's really appropriate, too :)

They're somewhere. Probably in my backpack that I haven't looked at since my very last class last year. I'll have to look for them. If they aren't there, I'll probably fashion some out of colorful holiday cellophane. :)
